Musical theatre group will be joined by support Philippa Hanna and special guest Carly Paoli
Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro will be supported by Philippa Hanna when they perform at Hull City Hall in November.
The show, which follows a huge UK sold-out tour last year, will also feature special guest Carly Paoli.
Philippa Hanna is an acclaimed British singer-songwriter, based in Sheffield. Since her 2007 debut, Philippa has released several studio albums, an EP and a live DVD, and published two autobiographical books.
As one of the most sought-after acoustic performers in the UK, Philippa has opened tours for acts including Lionel Richie, Anastacia, Leona Lewis and Wet Wet Wet.
Classical singer Carly Paoli is described as ‘an English rose with Italian roots’. Nottinghamshire-born, her extended family live in Puglia, Italy.
Her highly-anticipated debut album, Singing My Dreams is released on June 30.
Featuring a rare duet with José Carreras (the iconic En Aranjuez Con Tu Amor) this is an enchanting collection of classical and classic pieces, and original compositions – some featuring lyrics by Carly herself.
The album is also the personal story of a little girl who fell in love with the MGM musicals, a teenager who sang in the piazzas of Puglia, a student who studied her craft at Tring Park and The Royal Northern College of Music, a rising international star who has sung with – and is lauded by- luminaries including Andrea Bocelli, Elaine Paige, David Foster and, on several occasions, Carreras.
Collabro met in 2014 above a pub in London for their first rehearsal. Just a month later they received a standing ovation from a packed house at the Hammersmith Apollo when they performed Stars in a live audition for Britain’s Got Talent.
They went on to sail through the semi-final heat of the ITV programme with more than 63 per cent of the votes before winning the overall competition with one of the biggest majorities ever.
Collabro subsequently signed to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, joining the likes of One Direction, Little Mix, Susan Boyle and Il Divo.
In the two years since the competition, Collabro has released a number one debut album and a follow-up album which reached number two in the charts in the summer of 2015.
They have performed at the Royal Variety Performance, returned twice to the Britain’s Got Talent stage, including the ten-year grand final compilation of past contestants, and have gained an international following.
In Japan, they reached more than 30 million people on the Music Station show on two separate occasions, completing a tour and winning a gold disc award for top international artist alongside Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor.
Collabro have also completed two tours of America with a major record deal stateside.
The four-piece, now made up of Jamie Lambert, Michael Auger, Matt Pagan and Thomas Redgrave, released their third album ‘HOME’ earlier this year and will perform shows in Canada, Japan and America before heading back to the UK for their major tour this winter, including the date at Hull City Hall in November.
Tickets for Collabro at Hull City Hall on Friday, November 17, 2017, are from £19.50.
