Summer workshops for youngsters at Hull New Theatre

Young people aged from eight to 16 have the chance to be among the first to perform on the new stage at Hull New Theatre when it re-opens later this year following a £16m refurbishment.

A summer theatre workshop run by Performing Arts Etc will take place from Monday, August 14 to Friday, August 18.

Participants will rehearse throughout the week before sharing their work with a performance of hit musical The Wedding Singer on Friday, which is free for family and friends to watch.

They will work with a professional director, musical director, and choreographer and no experience is needed.

Everyone taking part will have the chance to sing and dance during the workshop and there will be a maximum of 50 participants.

There will also be lots of warm-up activities and on the first day of rehearsals, each child will be given a t-shirt to wear throughout the workshop.
