Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Club returns to Hull City Hall’s Mortimer Suite with another fantastic line-up in May.
The monthly event brings the best emerging talent from across the UK and beyond to your doorstep and has a successful track record of booking stars of the future, including Jason Manford, John Bishop, Sarah Millican and Russell Howard before they were famous.
The next club night, on Friday, May 19, features Marlon Davis, Alistair Williams and Micky P Kerry.
Marlon Davis is a bright young comedian, improviser, and actor who embraces his work with energy and charm, embodying his characters and delivering his acute observational material with aplomb.
His act is inspired by his upbringing, exploring Britain and tackling its social issues with skillful characterisations.
Marlon’s recent TV appearances include Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live (BBC3), The Steve K Amos Show (BBC2), The Five O’Clock Show (Channel 4), and The Comedy Store (Comedy Central).
After being crowned FHM Stand Up Hero 2009, Marlon supported Kevin Bridges, Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr on tour and is performing at clubs, arts centres and theatres all over the UK.
Alistair Williams describes his comedy style as ‘the ramblings of a moron’ but highly regarded as one of the most exciting acts on the UK comedy circuit, he must be doing something right.
Combining high-energy with a super charismatic stage presence his set is packed with rip-roaring gags from start to finish.
Micky P Kerr fuses together music, spoken word, and comedy, with his tongue often planted firmly in his cheek.
An award-winning comic, Micky is performing regularly for many of the biggest comedy promoters in the UK, recording a live set for BBC Radio 1, working on a new sitcom about his previous life as a primary school teacher and recording his latest album of music and comedy.
Micky is rapidly becoming one to watch, proving to be a massive hit with audiences and bookers alike.
The MC for the evening will be Damion Larkin, who has been described by the BBC as ‘one of the country’s top new comedians’ and is also the producer of Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club nights.
Tickets for Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club on Friday, May 19 are £12.50 in advance or £15 on the door. Line-up is subject to change.
